So Many Things

It's finally happened. Six months of waiting, and this is what we've been waiting for

Of course we'll change them all tomorrow, but you get the idea. I actually found myself dancing around my living room earlier with excitement. My poor old back!

So Tim got to the shop at about 4.30pm (he had to get there early because a courier was delivering a video camera to him, curious eh?). The internet cafe was still full of unsuspecting punters obviously reading this blog. As 5 o'clock approached the internet cafe guys started chivvying them outside, and by about 5.30 after a few alarm/shutter/light explanations we waved them goodbye and stood in our shop as owners for the first time

All the gang were there. The lovely Katie(cranberry juice), the lovely Julie(strongbow), Tim's brother John(kronenbourg), George('Dad can I have this?) and Harry('Dad, what's this?).

We officially had the shop for 24 minutes before someone knocked on the window and offered us £40 for the counter(which you can see Tim working behind in one of these pictures). He'll be back tomorrow to pick it up. Someone's already taken all the fake plants as well. I'm not sure we needed to order a skip!

all in all one of the best days ever.

Congrats on the little girl!

Oh, and well done on finally getting into your very own shop.

Just think - if the computers are still there, then tomorrow you can sell the previous customers internet time in one corner whilst you paint around them...

After being on the edge of my seat for so long (and having even fallen off a few times, much to the amusement of colleagues) I'm glad the wait for the keys is finally over!

Now the real fun begins... Having just gone through a new site opening at St Pancras I will duly sympathise with you for the next stage of The Big Green Bookshop.

Tim, if the chaps from Bertrams baffle you just give me a shout and I'll help in any way I can.

Simon, Congratulations also for the soon-to-be bundle of joy.

Kaz :o)

Congratulations and blessings on news of your child!!

congratulations on the shop as well;
maybe you could utilize the internet cafe section as an internet book cafe. "you can buy books online...but only from our store" might catch on.

Many congratulations on getting the keys. Thank you for letting us all share the process, and making it such fun. If the success of a BookShop Owner (a BO) requires energy and humour, then you two have it by the shed load.
Looking forward to more more fun and games to come. Have got a local literary celebrity celebrity to cut the opening ribbon?

Congrats as well on Miss Big Green. Do we have an EDD (Katie will know what that means).
